We decided to put Piglet in a 3 year old class that is three days a week. Needless to say, she was excited.

We couldn't stop her from running around the house this morning.

Rufus enjoyed some alone time after Piglet left. I think she kind of missed her though. Can't you tell?

Whirl WInd Christmas 2011 Tour Part I

Three states in three days. We're on the whirlwind Christmas tour and the train isn't slowing down until New Years. All aboard!!!

We started in South Georgia at Aunt Virginia's house. After spending a fun evening there, we headed to Jacksonville for Christmas Eve.

Rufus' first Christmas has been a lot of fun. He is very good at opening presents. He also enjoys playing with wraping paper.

After Christmas Eve, we headed back to Piglet and Rufus' house to spend the night. Then we had our first Christmas morning as a family of four. A tradition I hope to continue for a long time.

The theme of Piglet's presents was Princesses, Hello Kitty, and her favorite, Dora.

Rufus got a cool new piggy bank. His Dave Ramsey classes will begin after new years.

After worship service, we had a couple of friends over for Christmas lunch. Piglet had plenty of friends to share her new toys with.

Piglet Goes to the Swamp

Although it wasn't a great year for the Gators, Daddy still had to take one trip down to the swamp for a game. But this wasn't a fun trip. This trip was all business. Due to the influence of a certain cousin, Piglet decided it would be funny to tell her Daddy that she doesn't like the "chomp chomps" anymore. After I finished wiping the tears from my eyes, I realized one of my life long dreams was in jeopardy. Our primary goal in raising our children is that they will be believers who worship and glorify God. Our secondary goal is that they will graduate from the University of Florida. So off we went on our mission. The goal: re-convert Piglet to Gator nation.

Piglet, Daddy, Papa, andCousin "Ya Ya" (the one who told Piglet to break her Daddy's heart) took off on a Friday afternoon for Gainesville. Things didn't start off well when she said she didn't want to see Albert (the mascot) because he's scary. That problem was solved as soon as we saw the statue above. Albert has a special friend named Alberta. Piglet was excited about a girl mascot. From that moment on, finding Alberta became the focus during that day.

We attend Gator Walk, a tradition the last coach brought from Notre Dame. It was cool to be that close to Coach Muschamp (above), and Papa's favorite player, John Brantley (below).

But oh were we excited to see Albert and Alberta (behind the highway patrolman).

Then we went to Daddy's school, Weil Hall. It brought back some fond memories.

Piglet and Ya Ya had a great time at the game. Piglet lasted all the way into the second quarter before requiring the previously promised popcorn and coke.

Piglet didn't like the loud music over the intercom, but she was fascinated by the band and the girls with the flags. We also spent a good bit of time looking for her favorite instrument, the french horn.

If you ever ask Piglet where she wants to go for dinner, you're certain to get one answer: Pizza Hut.

We also enjoyed the special treat of jumping on the bed at the hotel.

Late in the fourth quarter, we looked over the wall at all the school buildings and I told her about how much I loved going to school here. Piglet looked at Daddy and said the sweetest words:

"Daddy, when I get older, can I go to school here?"

Yes you can honey. Mission accomplished.

Pumpkin Painting Time

I'm running a little behind on the pictures and blog. Just before Halloween, we spent some time in the front yard so Piglet could paint her pumpkin. These are the kind of times I want to always remember.

By the way, here is our new house. It feels good to be moved in and settled.

We're a little behind on the pictures. I blame living at Papa's house. We sold our house at the end of August and we're supposed to close on our new house in early October. Things seem to be a little more crazy now. Here are a few pics to catch you up.
Yesterday, Piglet and I went to a tea birthday party. Daddy and Rufus had a man's day in watching football.
The invitation to the tea party called for "fancy dressing". Here is Piglet in her pretty dress.

Piglet and I went to Jacksonville with Papa. One of her favorite things to do is go to the library and borrow some movies. Her latest loves are Super Why, Veggie Tales (aka Larry the Cucumber movies), and now Dora. I caught her counting in spanish while wearing her backpack in the living room this afternoon.
She also loves her little brother. Here she is peering over the pack and play at little Rufus.

Yesterday was Rufus' 2 month well check. He weighs 13.4 lbs and is 24 inches long. That puts him at 70% in both categories.
He also gets a big smile on his face when his Momma is talking to him, or when he is looking at his chomp chomp mobil.

Baseball 2011 Day 3

Day 3 was at Wrigley to see those loveable losers, the Cubs. I didn't think the place was a dump, but it was old. Not nearly as impressive at Fenway. I didn't get that "I'm in a sacred place" feeling. It was more like, "I'm in a minor league park" feeling. The game was fun though, and now I can say I've seen Wrigley, and the Ivy.

Baseball 2011 Day 2

Day 2 started off with a little church history. We went to Moody church and learned a little bit about D.L. Moody.
Then lunch at Gino's East, with some serious Chicago style pizza. Best pizza ever.
We then visited Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and saw some awesome views of the city.
The scariest part of the city was the skydeck from the 103rd floor. Nothing like standing on a piece of glass, 1,353 feet off the ground.
Thursday night was devoted to more baseball at U.S. Cellular field, home of the White Sox. I got a hot dog outside the stadium, and a dirty look when I asked for ketchup.

The night was perfect, except for the outcome of the game. Yankees 7 - White Sox 2.

Baseball 2011 Day 1

Dad and I take a baseball trip every year. This year consisted of Milwaukee and the two Chicago stadiums. The first day, we flew from Atlanta to Chicago and took a rental car to a day game in Milwaukee.

Lesson number one from the trip: Don't book a 5:30 a.m. flight because you'll be waking up at 2:30 a.m. to make it to the airport in time. Doesn't make it for a very fun game. We were so tired, it was tough to enjoy.
Loved Milwaukee though. They have a college football atmosphere with many tailgate parties. The smell of brats was everywhere.
Miller Park is also the most unique park I've ever seen. The retractable roof is an architectural plus to the venue.
I also like the slide that the Brewer's mascot goes down at every home run. He used to slide into a beer mug, but now he just slides onto a platform.
It was a tiring day, but a good day.

Before I get to the 4th pics, I wanted to show a close up of the receding hair line. We've had few claims of resemblance to either myself or Mommy since he was born. Since the hair started to go in the last few days, many people have said he's the spittin' image of his Daddy.Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures from the 4th, but I did get a few.

Summer fun with Cousins

Some cousins came over to hang out a few weeks ago. Piglet had the best time playing with them.
They're Grandfather is a big Seminole fan, so we gave him a few good Gator chomps in a pictures and sent it to him.
Not only did they come over to spend time with us, they fixed us some great food. Its great to be with family.

Our new bundle of joy arrived Sunday morning at 8:08. Here are his stats:
8 lbs 2 oz
20.5 inches long

Papa and Olivia met us at the hospital and waited in the waiting room with Piglet.Here is the obligatory picture of Papa with his mouth open. Piglet is so excited about her new baby brother.
Our sweet niece has already been so good with him, and Piglet.

Papa Jack and Sheila arrived just after he was born. They were also quite excited.

We called him Rufus before we knew his name. Rufus means red headed, so that didn't really fit him. He actually had some dark brown hair.
Sweet big sister couldn't wait to hold her baby brother.
This is what he was like most of the time he was at the hospital. Now that he's home, not so much.

Doctor's hospital gave us a birthday cake to celebrate his arrival.
Cousin Caroline came over later with Aunt Lynn and Uncle Kevin.

Caroline's friend Drew also came for a visit.
Piglet loved checking out her little brother. We're working on not touching his face.

Piglet was so good at the hospital. She spent time watching Strawberry Shortcake on the lap top.

The blog has always been called Piglet's Fan Club. We've now got a new bundle to brag about. I'm thinking Piglet and Rufus' Clubhouse. Any other suggestions?

A Graduation and a Party

A couple of weeks ago was Yaya's graduation. Kaitlin was excited to go to a graduation again but was disappointed when we didn't get to ride a school bus like we did at Daddy's graduation. We are so proud of Olivia, I can't believe how much she has gown up since I first met her.
Surprisingly Kaitlin did not make too much noise during the ceremony and was rewarded with Chick-fil-a for lunch.
Later that night Uncle Keith, Aunt Joan and cousin Aidan came for a visit. Katie loves playing with Aidan, she wanted to go with him when he left the next day.
Saturday was Katie's birthday party at her favorite place, Chick-fil-a. She was so excited she couldn't wait for the party to start.

About a week before her party Katie decided that she really wanted a Tinkerbell cake with all the faries. Before that I thought we would be going with a princess or Strawberry Shortcake cake. We found all the faries at Toys'R'Us and added them to the cake.

Katie has been talking about having party hats at her party for at least a month. I think it was due to an episode of Special Agent Oso, but I'm not sure. I was surprised that the kids wanted to wear them as well.

Katie refused to go up to the slide when we first got there. She wanted to go down the slide but she was afraid of the things she had to go up to get to it even though Uncle Big and Daddy tried to go with her. All it took was a few minutes with Yaya and she could't get enough.
After the party she left with Yaya and Papa to go visit her cousins in South Carolina. I cried ( I am a little hormonal you know ) but she left with no problems. I know she's having a great time swimming and seeing the family but I will be excited when she gets back Wednesday.

Piglet's 3rd Birthday!

Thursday was Piglet's 3rd birthday. The day started off going to a checkup for Rufus. All is good and I am dialated to a 3-3 1/2 and am 80% effaced. Piglet loves going to hear Rufus' heartbeat.
After that we saw some friends, went to lunch and then we ran a few errands. I had a return for Babies R Us so we had to look at toys. One of the ladies that worked there found out that it was Piglet's birthday so they gave her a crown and a balloon.
We also had to go to the grocery store to pick up a few things like another balloon and cake. Piglet was so excited about her balloons, she pretended that they were kites and flew them all around the house. We got home just before a bad storm came through that knocked out our power. Thankfully it was nothing too serious and Piglet's room has plenty of natural light.
After playing with the balloons for a while we played big church. Here you can see Piglet leading everyone in singing.
Being Memorial Day weekend there were no small cakes with flowers on them. That was okay with Piglet since she wanted one with an American flag on it. The American flag cake was just a little too small for 5 people so she happily picked one with sprinkles on it instead.
For someone that loves attention she was a little shy when we sang Happy Birthday to her.

Notice the bad lighting. The power came on around 7. Piglet didn't seem to mind since we had presents to play with.

Mother's Day and Graduation

Piglet celebrated her second Mother's day yesterday. She was so excited to give her Mommy the card she picked out for her. Piglet was also excited to show off her princess dress to her friends.

Then today, we went to my graduation. It feels great to be done with school.

Mema, Papa Jack, Uncle Bigs, and Papa joined Momma and Piglet in the stands for the festivities.

Piglet was excited to see me on the big screen.

And then it was picture time.

This is my favorite place in all of Auburn. I've enjoyed using my student I. D. card to get into baseball games for free.

Next, we've got three birthdays and a new baby on the way. May is a busy month.

Piglet's New Name

Yesterday Piglet and I had a conversation about her name. It went like this:

Piglet: Momma, why you name me Katiebug?
Me: Because Daddy and I like the name Kaitlin.
Piglet: I no like it.
Me: You don't? Well, when you get older you can change your name like Aunt Lynn did.
Piglet: I change it to Tamma. (which is her way of saying Tammana, a girl at our church)

Easter Egg Hunt 2011

Sunday was a great day. We went to church to worship, we ate a wonderful fellowship meal with our church family and we had an Easter Egg hunt. What's not to love about that? Katie was so excited about the egg hunt.

The poor kids had to wait a long time for the adults to finish eating so they could do their egg hunt. They were ready!

Cousin Time

Piglet loves her cousins. She wants to be like them and play whatever they play. Thankfully her cousins are incredibly sweet an even though they are a good bit older they play games with her that she can do. One thing she loves to do is race down hills. Noah and Owen raced down Papa's hill with her for at least 45 minutes.

Can you believe that I only have about 9 weeks to go? Time has gone by quickly but I think that we are ready, especially Katie. Every morning she wakes up and says "I love you Rufus". I love hearing those words from her and that she is excited about her baby brother.

Piglet Playing

Piglet loves to get ready for school. She tells me all the time that she's ready to go. I asked her one day what she thought that she would do at school and her answer was play with boys and girls and see the new toys. She doesn't seem to believe that there will also be work involved. Her backpack is filled with things she "needs" for school like toys and food.

Piglet has finally started riding her scooter that she got for Christmas. She has wanted to before now but I wouldn't let her unless she wore her helmet. Thankfully she has finally come around.

This is what Piglet likes to do whenever she can get her hands on some hangers. I don't really understand why, I just know she likes it.

Piglet loves playing in dirt. This was from a couple of days ago when Katie was playing with her friends. She had a great time and I think that she still has dirt in her hair.

Piglet Goes to the Dentist

Yesterday was Piglet's first trip to the dentist. She did a great job! She sat in the chair the whole time and let the doctor look at everything he needed to. Dr. Lugo said that her teeth are in great shape and to keep doing what we are doing. That was a relief for me since I am not the best at making her brush her teeth in the morning and sometimes even at night. As we left the office Piglet told me what a fun time she had.

Katie hates to wear her hair up. Whenever I put something in her hair she takes it out immediately. This weekend her cousin talked her into wearing a ponytail all day Saturday and Sunday. It was so nice to see her smiling face instead of her hair.

Piglet helped mommy make a big heart sugar cookie for valentines day. Then we took a quick trip to Jacksonville to see some family. We got to go fishin at the pond.

Papa's House

Piglet plays in the front yard. Pretty soon, she'll realize the fun she can have in the woods.

Piglet's great grandmother has already made us some wonderful meals.

She has also spent the night a few times. These two are like peas and carrots.

A Future Postal Worker?

Katie loves going to get the mail every day. In the house she likes to color a picture and put it in the "mailbox" which was behind some blinds in the kitchen. Now she has a mailbox and she adores it.

She will even pretend it's a telescope and yell "I see you!"

Nap Time

Kaitlin has not had a nap since last Friday. It's sad for me because I am always about to fall asleep when her music cuts off so she knows that she can get up. I shouldn't lay down at all but that's when I try to read the Bible some and once I lay down I am ready for a nap. Kaitlin went through a phase like this a few months ago so maybe she will start napping again soon. She asked to go outside after her rest time and since it wasn't too cold I thought we should. We pulled some weeds, played tag and played with chalk because it's the best thing ever. Sadly I could not handle being out for too long so after 45 minutes we headed inside which broke Kaitlin's heart.

Kaitlin loves her bath time, especially when it's a bubble bath. Here she is "swimming" looking for her glasses like Donald Duck does on one of the Mickey Mouse episodes. She always puts the red thing on her head. She just loves it.

A Christmas & Rufus Update

A few weeks ago we went to for our 20 week ultrasound to confirm what Katie already knew that Rufus is a boy. It was exciting for Chad, Papa Rick and me but Kaitlin was more interested in the Mickey Mouse calendar hanging on the wall.

Kaitlin started sleeping in her big girl bed Christmas night. She loves it! She now believes that all of her babies must sleep with her so she sleeps with 8 and covers them completely with blankets. It doesn't leave her a lot of room but she's happy.

Christmas week we got together with more family for more presents and fun. I didn't take a lot of pictures because my pregnant brain can't seem to remember to do things like that, but here are a few from when we went to Infantry Museum.

Owen loves all things Army and even went and bought him some BDUs (or whatever they are called now) after the museum.

The meseum is great and free! There is so much to do there and we will have to go back next time our nephews are in town to see more.

21 weeks!

We are over halfway before "Rufus"gets here. I know that I should be putting up pictures of the last ultrasound but we don't have a scanner and we just can't remember for Chad to take the pictures to work with him so he can scan them there. Hopefully next week I will be able to put them up. Kaitlin has decided that she would rather "Rufus" be a sister instead of a brother. She has also started calling her baby dolls and her stuffed puppy dogs Rufus "so we can have a lot of Rufuses". Katie also likes to point out that her belly is getting bigger just like mine. Oh how I love to hear that! I am still trying to potty train Kaitlin but she wants no part of it. She says that she wants to wear a diaper, be a baby instead of a big girl and that she can go to school and just not potty while she's there. I can feel "Rufus" moving around but he is in no way as active as Kaitlin was. I can't figure out his schedule but with Kaitlin I could feel her every morning when I woke up, before my nap after work and right before I went to bed. Maybe that means "Rufus" will be calm. He'll have to be tough to handle Kaitlin's hugs.

Piglet Christmas 2010

Piglet went to Papa Jack's house for Christmas this year. We started with a trip to Gadsden to ride the choo choo train and look at lights. Everybody was all bundled up.

When we woke up Christmas morning, it started snowing.

Then we went to Piglet's Great-Grandmother's house to see more family.

Mommy went out in the snow for a good 10 seconds. She left just as soon as the snowball fight started.

I can't believe that I forgot to put up a picture of Rufus. This was taken a little over a month ago. Don't worry we have no intention of naming this baby Rufus it's just a name to call him/her until we know what name we will be using. It sounds much better than #2 or it. Of course, we will probably not have a real name until after Rufus is born because we are indecisive like that.

Here is a close up of baby Christmas. She along with the crib and blanket was an early Christmas present from Piglet's Aunt Linda and Uncle Donnie. Baby Christmas has quickly become Katie's favourite. When we play she always gets baby Christmas and gives me baby Charlie (her old favourite). Katie is also determined that baby Christmas is a boy even though he has pink clothes. She is just as determined that Rufus is a boy and will not be a girl. We will see if she's right.

Thanksgiving

We spent this Thanksgiving in Florida. We had a great time visiting with family and seeing some old friends. One highlight of the trip was Piglet getting to play with her cousins, she loves them so much!

We also went to see Papa JO.

We can't go to see Papa JO without also seeing JD. This was the first time Katie would actually sit on him.

Last month, we attended the McLeod reunion Piglet loved seeing some of her relatives.

Virginia

We went to Virginia for a short vacation. Ever since we got married, Chrissy has wanted to go somewhere that had fall foliage. There was lots of it in the Shenandoah Valley along Skyline Drive.

We walked about 8 miles of trails.

It was really foggy in the mornings, but always cleared up by evening.

We spent a little time on the Appalachian Trail, or the A T as us experienced hikers call it.

It was cold for Chrissy

The hiking was tough too, but worth it for the views.

After a few days in the mountains, we went to see some historic sites.

Pumpkin Patch

A few weeks ago we had our only chance to go to the Pumpkin Patch. We took Papa and Yaya with us and had a good time. Of course Katie always has a good time when Yaya is around.
I know we look like sisters don't we? Don't worry I know that I don't look that young.
Katie was a little apprehensive when the hay ride started.
But she enjoyed it.

Asheville

This week Katie, Papa and I went to Asheville, NC. We had a lot of fun visiting family and enjoying the cooler weather.
Here is Katie and her cousin Aidan. Katie loves Aidan but she was only happy if he did what she told him to do. She's just a little bossy.
I asked her to hug Aidan for this picture but she tackled him instead.

Aunt Joan gave the kids a bubble bath and they loved it. Katie wanted to take one every night after that.
Most of the time Katie was running around but when she thought no one was watching she just relaxed and watched Mickey Mouse.

Our last night there we built a fire, roasted marshmallows and road around in the wagon.
We didn't build the tepee, the cabin owner's kids built it.
Aunt Joan, Uncle Keith, and Aidan.
Katie reluctantly roasted some marshmallows. She was not a big fan of the smoke from the fire.
She refused to eat the roasted ones but popped the unroasted marshmallows like candy. It was so much fun maybe we can do it again next year.

Papa has come to stay with us for a while. He's been teaching Piglet some new tricks. She is having trouble figuring out the pushing technique for her tricycle. Papa tied a bungie cord to the handle bars so someone could pull her.
Now she rides like a champ.
Piglet has become much more independent, playing by herself. She loves her farm truck. All the animals climb aboard.
She loves baseball. She loves it even more when watching with it with Daddy.

Piglet August 2010

Piglet has had a busy month. She went up to Papa Jack's to celebrate his birthday.
Piglet even helped blow out the candles.
And of course, she helped with the cake as well. We also learned she likes "white cake" more than brown cake.
Even though its been hot outside, Piglet always wants to go into the backyard.
And look over the fence at the big puppy dog on the other side.
Daddy grilled something called bacon explosion.
Here is a look pre-cooked.
And here is the finished product.
The real explosion came at about 3:00 the next morning.
Piglet put all of her big toys in a row, and then said "Look Mommy, I made a train!!!" Little girl is growing up.

Piglet's Hat and A Trip to Boston

This little girl does not like to wear hats. We managed to make it happen for about 30 seconds.
And she was smiling for about 5 seconds.
Chrissy, my Dad, and I went to Boston for a quick vacation. 3 days, 2 nights, and 2 games at Fenway.
We saw all the historic sites and then went to my favorite place.

Josh Beckett went 8 strong. It was a good night.

Big Papi didn't hit one out that night, but it was still great to see him.
We spent the last day seeing a little more of Boston, including a trip to Harvard.
A great trip. Of course its always great in Boston.

We went to Florida last weekend to visit family and say goodbye to the house Chad grew up in. No trip would be complete without a visit to see JD. I stayed inside in the air conditioning while Chad and Papa took Katie outside.

Now JD is graced with a big hug. I wonder if JD feels the same about Katie?

We had a good time and Katie is already talking about going to visit JD again.

Guess where I just got back from. I had a week of training in this city.

The 2nd most famous attraction is a river running through the center of city.
Restaurants and shops line the sides of the river. There are also river tours that teach you the history of the town.

Panama City Beach Vacation

We spent the past week in Panama City Beach with family. There were about 25 of us in all. We stayed in condos right on the water. On with the pics!!!!

If you asked Piglet what her favorite part was, she'd probably say the swimming pool. She seemed like she enjoyed playing with her cousins even more.

But the pool sure was fun for Piglet.

Cousin Aidan stayed in our room. She is learning to share with her friends, as seen here with her truck.

Have you ever just known that your kid would enjoy something if they'd only try it, but they were too scared? That is how I feel about the slide at the kiddie pool. I finally got her to do it, but she didn't like the water splashing in her eyes at the bottom.

Cousin Christian sure didn't mind.
Neither did cousin Emily.

Cousin Aidan was too young to even know what was happening. I think he enjoyed it though.

We spent a lot of time at the swimming pool. I think if her Papa decides to move to Alabama, maybe he should have a swimming pool. I'll have to get Piglet to start working on him.

Here is one of those examples of catching things from Mommy. Piglet waters the flowers just like Mommy does at home.

Birthday Continued

This is JD, the same JD that threw me off of him years ago. Katie just loves this donkey for some reason and talks about him constantly. When you say that we are going to Jacksonville she first smiles and says "Papa" and then "JD". Needless to say we went to visit JD and Papa JO for Katie's birthday.
Papa tried to ride JD but it didn't happen.

We also went for a visit to the beach. It was very windy that day so Kaitlin wanted nothing to do with the ocean but she did enjoy walking on the beach with Papa.
The next weekend we went to Oxford for Katie's 3rd party. We saw Meme, uncle David, Papa Jack, Mema, and Big.
We had 3 cakes. One was a strawberry cake for me, one a chocolate cake for Uncle David and this was Katie's cake. They were all so yummy.

Jacksonville Birthday

Piglet has had three birthday celebrations. The first one was at home on her actual birthday. The second was the weekend after her birthday in Jacksonville. I'll put some pics up from the third party later on. Maybe the best part was having her cousins Yaya and Charoline with us. Their actual names are Olivia and Caroline, but that is how their names come out.

There was also a lot of family there.

Can you believe that Piglet is 2 now? She has changed so much since last year and we love her so much. Here's just a few fun facts about Katiebug.

1. She loves Special K and ask to eat it everyday for breakfast and sometimes lunch and supper.

2. She calls all baby dolls "baby Charwee". Here's one baby Charlie.

3. Her favourite shows are Phenius and Ferb, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and Good Luck Charlie (that's how she got baby Charwee's name). Here she is watching a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Before I get to Easter, we spent last weekend in South Georgia for Piglet's Great Grandfather's birthday. Piglet likes showing Papa the birds.

She had a good time with her cousins too.
This weekend, we went to North Alabama to visit Piglet's Mema and the rest of the family.

Piglet's new bad habit she learned from Papa is picking every flower she finds.

The thing that surprised me most about Piglet is how focused she can be. I thought she'd be all over the place, loosing interest in hunting eggs after one or two, but she didn't. After she found all of the eggs, she looked at me and said, "more, more, more" until I convinced her that she and her cousin already got all the eggs. When she realized there were prizes in the plastic eggs, she spent the next 5 minutes opening each one. Then she took everything out of her basket and put everything back in. She is an interesting little girl.

Piglet this Spring

Piglet has been a busy girl lately. She is getting more and more independent. Her new thing is to "walk baby". She pushes the stroller around the block with her baby doll buckled into the seat.

She ate her first sucker this week. After she finished, her little blue mouth kept saying "more, more, more, more..."

I'm so glad she is an outside girl. She loves to walk around the neighborhood and look for puppydogs and meows.

Mommy took her outside on Saturday for a little photo shoot. Piglet is a beautiful little girl.

Spring Training and Jacksonville

Me and Dad got down to Orlando to catch a few Braves games. We went to Disney where the Braves play their home games and then went to a Braves away game at Houston's spring training site.

Piglet came with me to Jacksonville, but me and my Dad left her in Jacksonville with Mommy to visit family.

Spring is my favorite time of year, but has nothing to do with the weather. With the cold going away, the boys of summer come out and play. Pitchers and catchers report in February, the first spring training games start in early March, and my new love, college baseball is starting up as well. I'm proud to say that my Piglet has now been to 4 baseball games. Her latest trip was to my school, Auburn. Piglet lasted 8 inning with no problems. I think having her cousins there with her really helped. Popcorn also seemed to keep her occupied.Below is a picture from her first baseball game. Hasn't she really grown? I went to Orlando last week for some spring training games. Piglet didn't make the trip. I'll post some pictures later on.

Snow Day

Chad is in Reno so I came to Oxford for a long visit. I don't like to stay home alone and I will be picking Chad up in Birmingham on Valentine's Day while Kaitlin stays with Mema and Papa. So far we have had a good time visiting one of my best friends from my high school days and with my grandparents. Today we got to enjoy some snow. I think that it may have snowed more in Columbus but I'm pretty excited with what we got here. The snow started falling around 10:15. Kaitlin went out in it for a few minutes before her nap, she was so excited.

Maggie and Zoe had lots of fun playing in the snow. Zoe especially enjoyed it and went out every time anyone would let her.

We've had a wonderful Christmas so far. Piglet has been so much fun. A few weeks ago, we went to Anniston for some pre-Christmas cheer with Chrissy's Grandparents.

We visited the police station and they were doing a lineup. Can you guess which one is guilty? I'd say the 4th from the left.
We celebrated Meme's birthday party with all of the family.
Piglet got a little sneaky and saw one of her presents early.
Christmas Eve, we spent at my Grandparents in Jacksonville. The highlight was seeing all of Piglet's cousins.

And the other highlight was what Piglet got from Santa and from the family.

Papa's back is already hurting from one of Piglet's presents.

Piglet's First Sentence???

I'm not sure, but I think Piglet said "That's my Baby" today. Maybe I'm just taking the incomprehensible jibberish that lights up my heart every day and willed it into a sentence, but I really think it was there. Its amazing how smart she is. For instance, here are a few examples.

1. She got a princess chair for Christmas. This afternoon, she put her chair in front of the Christmas tree, moved all the toys from in front of the tree, and sat down to just watch the tree. She just relaxed and enjoyed the tree and the lights.

2. Piglet now has a night time routine. We go into her room, and turn on her lamp and night light. Then we sit down and do our family Bible time. After we finish our songs, Piglet turns on the CD player and turns on her night time CD. Then she gives her baby dolls goodnight kisses, followed by giving Mommy and Daddy night time kisses. Then we put her down and she goes to sleep. Since she has a lamp AND a night light, and the night light is pretty dim; I decided to start turning off the night light as I leave the room to save a little electricity. The first night, she caught me doing it and let me know that wasn't acceptable. Last night, she didn't notice me turn it off, but after we left, she started crying. When Mommy came back in to check on her, she pointed to the light. When Mommy turned it back on, she went right to sleep.

She's smart like her Momma and cute like her Daddy.

Quick side note: Should Tebow play? If some of the best Doctors in the world says he is good to go, there is no reason Tebow shouldn't start. I got a little ticked earlier today listening to some guys say that Meyer shouldn't let him play even if the Doctors say its ok. If the Doctors, (who could be sued if they get it wrong) say he can play; I'm going with their recommendation, not some ex-football player turned broadcaster.

Pretty much the perfect trip

We started at the new Yankee Stadium. It was a great game, but didn't work out the way I wanted it to. Yanks won on a walkoff hit in the 9th. The stadium looked nice, but was poorly designed, and it still smelled like New York.

Not a bad seat, despite being 5 rows from the top. It was 50 degrees and the wind was blowing hard. In a t-shirt and jeans, we were pretty cold.

We made it to Fenway in time to see one of the last tours of the day. The highlight of the tour was going up into the monster seats. The first picture was taken from the monster seats.

What a beautiful place. It was awesome hearing about the history too.

THE most uncomfortable seats ever. These were built in the 30's and they're wood. I think people must have been much smaller back then. Fenway Park might be the coolest place in the world, but its also the most uncomfortable place to watch a game. You literally have to wedge yourself into the seat. And at6' 3", I could barely wedge myself against the seat in front of me.

But the view was outstanding. Beckett pitched a strong 8 innings, only giving up 3 runs. The third run tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. And it was the most heartbreaking. With runners on and 2 outs, Beckett struck out Figgins, but the ball got past Varitek. Figgins was safe at third and a run scored. Wagner tried to hold the Angels in the top of the 9th, but gave up one run. Sox lost.

Citi field was actually more impressive than Yankee Stadium. Citi, or Shea (as most Mets fans still call it) also opened this year, but didn't get the press that Yankee Stadium. The foyer is a tribute to Jackie Robinson. Really cool. The view was great, once again from the upper deck.

The Mets were down by 4 in the 9th. They scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th and then loaded the bases with 2 outs. Who comes up? Jeff Francoeur. Could the guy I complained so much about when he was in Atlanta come through in the clutch? Nope. Grounded out to the pitcher game over. Some things never change.

I put a lot of time in to planning these trips. Reason being I'm trying to save as much money as possible, and see as much as possible in a limited time frame. We spent a lot of time on the subway, buses, and trains. Things went pretty smooth until Friday night after the Mets game. We spent about an hour walking around Queens trying to find the right bus to get back to our hotel. Finally took a cab and got back to the hotel, 2 miles away with $20 less in our pockets. We were safe and sound though.

Our flight was leaving Saturday at 5:00 pm. I wanted to try some Brooklyn style pizza and then see Coney Island. We were so tired though after getting back after midnight for 3 straight nights, we slept in. We made it to Brooklyn but didn't make it to Coney Island. Good pizza though.

And a great trip. We're already talking about where to go next year.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend we went to Florida to visit with family. My sister Alisa and her family joined us as well. We got to watch our first football saturday. Guess who was excited.

Kaitlin loved her new outfit.

But she did get tired of posing.

Sunday after church we went to the beach. Kaitlin started off in the nice safe shallow water.

After seeing her cousins head for deeper water she had to join in.

Olivia helped keep Kaitlin from going under.

Trouble

We went to Jacksonville and St. Augustine last Wednesday. The purpose of the visit was partly to see family, and the other reason was to celebrate our anniversary.

We got to see some family like cousin Hadley.

Piglet loves playing with her little friends.

Piglet can say Momma real well. In fact she says it all the time. Every now and then, she'll say Daddy. It took about two days for her to learn Nana-mac. I think its got something to do with all of the cookies Nana-mac feeds her.

For the anniversary part, we went to St. Augustine for a two days and one night. My brave Father and Grandmother agreed to babysit over that time.

St. Augustine's a really cool city. Great place to visit and see the sites.

Piglet took her second trip to the beach. I expected her to be a little hesitant, but that kid just jumped right in.

Blueberry Picking

Yesterday we went blueberry picking with some friends.

At first Kaitlin only wanted to dump out any blueberries that I picked, but after she ate a few her mission went to eating out of everyone's buckets.

Thankfully she eventually learned to pick the blueberries.

Warner Robins

We've had a busy few weeks. First we went to Oxford for Father's Day, the next weekend we went ot Atlanta for a couple of Braves/Red Sox games, a trip to Stone Mountain for the laser show, and then we were in Warner Robins for 2 weeks. Lots of fun.

Kaitlin loves Zoe and Zoe loves her. When Kaitlin cries Zoe will come running to rescue her with doggie kisses.

Chad, Dad, and Brian were watching Kaitlin and this is what they let her play with. It was so nice seeing Maggie, we've missed her. Kaitlin is playing with my 1st baby doll, Mary. My grandmother gave her to me when I was 6 months old.

Kaitlin loves her uncle Jason. And her aunt Alisa.

We came home for the weekend during our 2 weeks in Warner Robins and found our bed covered with thousands of ants. There are no pictures of that but here is Kaitlin ready for church the next morning.
